On the air more

I’ve moved the station to a dedicated computer. There should be far fewer interruptions in airplay! Many thanks to "S&D” for their contribution of the essential Mac mini!

Rainbow Schedule

The schedule has been changed to be different each hour of the day. The weekend days are the same, and then programs start one hour later each week day. If you can only tune in at the same time each day this will give you more variety.

Added Liz & Dan Faiella

Liz & Dan Faiella have a debut album, At Long Last. Tracks from that album are now featured in Spotlight E! A big welcome to them, and thanks for the music, now, then, and to come.

Added Joanne Garton

You can now hear “Joanne Garton” on the air!

Wow! The schedule now has 4 hours of artist-focused “spotlight” programming. In each spotlight several track in a row are played from one artist. The Schedule page now tells you which time to hear which artist.

Added “Atlantic Crossing”

You can now hear “Atlantic Crossing” on the air!

The schedule now has 3½ hours of artist-focused “spotlight” programming. In each spotlight several track in a row are played from one artist. The Schedule page now tells you which time to hear which artist.

Rodney Miller is on the air

Twelve brand new tracks by Rodney Miller are on the air from the live concert he gave for the North Bay Country Dance Society’s Zoom concert of May 9, 2020.

P.S. The sound qualty was improved late Thursday afternoon when I got a better recording of the meeting.

Rodney Miller LIVE, and a new weekly program

▶︎ This Saturday CDMR is simulcasting a live performance by Rodney Miller. North Bay Country Dance Society is hosting Rodney in a Zoom concert. CDMR will simulcast most of that hour. The details:

Saturday, May 9
—Pacific time: 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
—Eastern US time: 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm

:00 to :25—Rodney will play beautiful waltzes and tunes for our dancing and listening pleasure.

:25 to :35—CDMR will cut to it’s usual Waltz music program for 10 minutes while the Zoom folks take a break.

:35 to end—25 more minutes of wonderful music

▶︎ The daily program has been changed. There are theme times now, with song, dance, waltzing, calm music, and musician spotlight hours. During the spotlight hours you will hear music from one musician or band for 5-15 minutes at a time, with voice announcements to remind you who you are hearing.

▶︎ The “Now Playing” sidebar box has a link from the musician’s name to their CDMR page. Please donate or buy their music. And even if you can’t afford that right now, instead send us a note thanking them for the music. CDMR will forward it to them.

Live Simulcast on SATURday

This Saturday Friday I will be simulcasting a Zoom meeting with Rodney Miller performing live from the US west coast! Watch this site for news of the exact time and details.

More Music On-Air

More music! We now feature music by The Poor Cousins, Golden Bantam String Band, Newport String Project, and Chimney Swift!

I had to boost the listener limit from 30 to 100. Thanks for listening!

Operational Improvements

I am testing out new station programming software. It should make managing the program easier for me, and make the transitions at the top of the hour change only when a song is finished. In addition I am adding voice-overs for station identification and a call to please support the musicians.
